There are a lot of health benefits when adding Almond Milk to your smoothies.

Did you know? People can make Almond milk at home. Make the Almond Milk by finely grinding the kernels and placed in a blender with water, then filtering the pulp through a sieve to separate the liquid. Soak the whole almonds for 24-48 hours and blended with filtered water. Some shop bought products may contain as low as 2% almonds, while some recipes around the internet contain up to 20%, significantly increasing the price. A few thing to know about store bought Almond Milk.

First of all, Almond milk has around half the calories of whole milk. Also there is no saturated fat in Almond milk. Almond Milk does not need refrigeration if kept sealed in a Tetra Pack or similar container it is shelf stable. Therefore knowing that you do not have to have Almond Milk refrigerated means you’ll be more likely to take with you to work or on a camping trip. You will need to refrigerate the Almond Milk once opened. Please refer to label for the relevant instructions.

Did you know you can store your Almond Milk at room temperature if it comes in a tetra pack. That makes it a it a comfortable, basic nutrition to pack, to take at your convenience, automatically raising your daily intake of all its nutrients.

Many years ago working for a large hotel group I learnt how to make the perfect Pina-Colada, from fresh ingredients. Not out of a can. They were very popular and exceedingly luscious.

Here is a slightly different take on a Pina colada.

We added kale, coriander and mango. This helps smooth it out, add some nutrition and freshens the breath at the same time.
