Green Kale, Coconut Water and Kiwi Fruit Smoothie

kale coconut water kiwifruit smoothie

Green Smoothies are often a bit bitter, we put up with that bitterness to get the nutrition hidden deep inside those iron charged greens. This kale coconut water, kiwifruit (gooseberry), cucumber, avocado and green apple smoothie is a bit different. The apples and kiwifruit give it a reasonable tang and fragrant aroma. With the avocado giving the smoothie a luxurious smooth texture and the cucumber a cool refreshing aftertaste.

This smoothie could easily be served as sorbet or as a light meal replacement. This could be a great way to get the kids to eat some greens. Try adding a dash of yogurt and serve it with some simple vegetable batons like celery and carrot for a nourishing party starter.

kale-pear-strawberry-smoothie

Healthy Smoothies are a great way to start the days and get off to a healthy nutritious start.

Make sure you wash your fruit and vegetable correctly and use a chlorine based solution.

Did you know in according to the World Health Organisation more the 10 % of people get food borne illnesses every year and around 30% of them are under 5 years old? food borne diseases

Here is a tip when you buy kale {or any fruit and vegetable} from your local or online grocery  store make sure you wash it well. I placed some in a water bath and gave it a good shake and a fair amount of dirt ended up in the bottom of my sink, not in my stomach. You can but chlorine based sanitizer, but some people say chlorine based it can be harmful. Check with your local or online Chemist.
